New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS)

The New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS) is a not-for-profit association of independent schools throughout the state of New Jersey. It was established in 1958 and serves its member schools by offering a rigorous, comprehensive, standards-based accreditation program. Moreover, it also provides outstanding professional development, advocacy, networking, and consultation with professionals.

The NJAIS-member schools are diverse yet have some characteristics in common such as policy of nondiscrimination. NJAIS schools propagate a culture of learning in every field of school life be it in classrooms and laboratories, on playing fields, and stages, in concerts and art studios.

NJAIS is a member of the International Council Advancing Independent School Accreditation (ICAISA), the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), ISAnet,  NBOA, CSEE, and the Council for American Private Education (CAPE). It is also a member of the New Jersey Nonpublic Advisory Council.

Some Fast Facts about NJAIS

NJAIS serves 90 schools and 31,000+ students with 25% of them awarded financial aid of some form. They have 29% students of color as part of the total percentage of enrollment.
