Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS/CT)

The Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS/CT) is a voluntary accreditation agency established in 1950 in Connecticut, USA. As of 2024, it has 93 non-profit independent schools with 30,000+ enrolled students from not just Connecticut towns but many other states and countries.

The Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS/CT) is also affiliated with the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

CAIS/CT membership is open to any not-for-profit, non-discriminatory, and fiscally sound elementary or secondary school that has a robust system of governance to ensure that the school stays true to its mission.
