California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS/CA)

The California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) was established in 1941, and it serves 233 schools and 93000+ students as of 2024  in the state of California.

The organization offers an ongoing cycle of accreditation, training, and support to independent K-12 schools throughout California. Moreover, it also provides professional development, resources, networking, and solution-driven mentorship to its member school heads and trustees.

The CAIS/CA schools cater to more than 80% of the students in non-religious and nonprofit K-12 schools in California. In addition, it also serves dozens of Christian, Jewish, and Muslim schools making it a truly inclusive organization. The CAIS/CA is also recognized by the International Council for Advancing Independent School Accreditation (ICAISA).
