Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) is an international organization of Christian schools that was founded in 1978 in the USA. Its headquarters is in Colorado and has partnerships with more than 25,000 schools in 100+ countries.
ACSI is a member of the World Evangelical Alliance. The organization was formed as a result of the merger of three organizations: The National Christian School Education Association; the Western Association of Christian Schools and the Ohio Association of Christian Schools. Various international schools have joined the network.
It offers accreditation services involving a rigorous assessment to foster excellent quality of academics as well as spiritual pursuits in its accredited institutions globally. It also advocates the key issues affecting the Christian community at the national and international levels.
ACSI Accreditation Process
The ACSI accreditation involves the following steps:
- Self-study: The prospective educational institutions must conduct a self-study to assess their academic and operational preparedness level before the ACSI review.
- ACSI External Review: After the self-study, the organizations seeking ACSI accreditation request a review visit by external ASCI evaluators. The trained evaluators visit the schools, observe classrooms, and interact with the stakeholders to prepare the visit report.
- Visit Report and Decision Making: Based on the report findings prepared by the review team, the final decision to grant or deny accreditation is taken by the ACSI Commission.
- Continuous Improvement: The accredited schools are further required to participate in the process of continuous school improvement and periodic reviews.
Besides offering accreditation to K-12 Christian Schools globally, ACSI also provides organizations with professional development to educators to enhance their skills, curriculum support to schools to foster Christian schooling, and legal & legislative support and guidance on issues affecting Christian schools.
